In 1980 the existing Heritage BC Supreme Courthouse experienced an arson fire and consequent serious damages.

Brian Nelson Architect was retained by the BC Buildings Corporation to design the restoration and oversee the construction.

The project was one year in Design / Documents Phase and one year in Construction Phase by Revelstoke Construction Ltd.

The Courthouse was subsequently decommissioned and sold to the City of Grand Forks and was repurposed as an Art Gallery.
